Date of Report: October 15, 2023
Recent Activities:
All work has been completed on bays 1–5 on the work bridge (e.g., piles, cross bracing, decking, and handrails). Bay 6 of the work bridge is expected to be completed soon. Work has commenced on construction of the cofferdam in bay 1. Earthwork has started for dam armoring.
Sundt has encountered additional debris on the upstream side of the dam and has been using a long boom excavator to remove the debris, consisting of trees, additional large chunks of concrete and other miscellaneous debris.
The Hydraulic Power Unit (“HPU”) shop drawings have been approved and released for fabrication. This item has an extremely long lead time, so getting the drawings approved and fabrication started is a positive development. The HPU is the item that will enable the new hydraulic gates on the dam to be manipulated, allowing the gates to move whenever lowering or raising the gates is necessary.
Upcoming:
In the next several weeks, we expect (1) continued work on construction of the cofferdam in bay 1; (2) continued earthwork for the dam armoring; and (3) beginning to pour concrete for dam armoring.
Updated Substantial Completion Date: April 22, 2025
